GPR Scan for soil boring survey

Client Problem

An environmental soil testing company wanted to collect six ground soil samples for a future project at the St. Genevieve School System. They contracted Encompass to locate all underground utilities in the locations of the soil borings.

How We Responded

We decided to use our RD8000 to locate any possible underground High or Low voltage conduits.  Ground penetrating radar (GPR) was also utilized to find any other possible utilities or anomalies in the boring locations.

Results We Delivered

Our results with our GPR system were very accurate and successful in locating all of the underground targets in the work areas.  With our RD8000 we were able to utility sweep around the boring areas to locate all electrical underground lines.

Client Savings

The environmental firm was able to avoid damaging the underground utility lines as three of the proposed bore locations were in direct conflict with live electrical lines.  Since the original soil boring locations had utility conduits running right under the work location, Encompass Inspections was able to recommend moving the bore locations to clear areas so all utilities could avoided.
