Utility Locate

Client Problem

Encompass Inspections was contacted by a directional boring company to locate underground utilities in Alan Hancock College campus to allow them to vertical bore to install signs.

How We Responded

A technician from Encompass Inspection northern California office arrived on the jobsite in Santa Maria, California within 24 hours of the project request. Once the jobsite was walked with the project manager from the local contracting company,  Encompass Inspections set out to identify and locate all utilities in the work area.

Results We Delivered

The underground locator revealed existing electrical conduits, storm drain, water, communications, and street lights within the designated excavation area by utilizing the RD7000 Utility Locator and Ground Penetrating Radar . Upon completing the underground locating, the results were marked directly to the surface allowing the  construction company to perform the vertical boring safely and without any damage to previously existing utilities as well as to job site personnel.

Client Savings

Using both Ground Penetrating Radar and Underground Radio Detection technology simultaneously, it greatly reduced to project cost by allowing the project to be marked out effectively and efficiently.
